Short answer
Several layers stop unwanted contact. Your company's DNC list blocks calls to a number everywhere. Do-not-disturb is per contact and per channel (calls, texts), and syncs with GoHighLevel. A STOP reply is the carrier-level text opt-out, and only the contact can undo it by texting START. Optional scrubbing checks the national and state registries and known litigators before dialing.
"Don't call me" can arrive in many ways: a request on a call, a STOP text, a flag in your CRM, or a number on the national registry. Each has a home in DialerDay, and they do slightly different things.
The layers
| Layer | Scope | Set by | Undone by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company DNC list | The phone number, every campaign, calls | Managers, or the *Do not call* outcome | Managers |
| Call do-not-disturb | The contact, calls | Agents, workflows, GoHighLevel, Salesforce | Agents, workflows or the synced CRM |
| Text do-not-disturb | The contact, texts | Agents, workflows, GoHighLevel | The same |
| STOP opt-out | The number, texts | The contact texting STOP | Only the contact texting START |
| Registry and litigator scrubbing | The number, calls | Your Blacklist Alliance account | Not applicable: checked live |
Company DNC list
A list of numbers your company never calls. Logging the Do not call outcome adds the number automatically. Every dial checks it, across all campaigns and manual calls.
Do-not-disturb, per channel
Do-not-disturb works like GoHighLevel's: separate switches for calls and texts, so someone can stop calls but still get appointment texts.
- Synced both ways with GoHighLevel. Writing back needs the contacts.write permission.
- Salesforce *Do Not Call* syncs both ways. The periodic sync only ever turns it on, never off.
- Workflows can turn DND on or off, and can branch on it.
STOP is different on purpose
A STOP reply is the carrier-level text opt-out. DialerDay keeps it separate from text DND:
- No agent, workflow or sync can clear it.
- Only the contact texting START can.
Automation should never be able to undo someone's own opt-out.
Registry and litigator scrubbing
With your Blacklist Alliance account connected, numbers are checked before dialing against:
- the national Do Not Call registry and state lists,
- known TCPA litigators.
Results are cached for the number of days you choose, so you don't pay twice. You can also block manual dials to flagged numbers, and review recently blocked numbers in a log.
Consent
Campaigns can check the consent recorded on each contact, from web form proof (TrustedForm, Jornaya), imports or the lead webhook:
- Not checked: the default.
- Manual touch: only leads with consent ring automatically. Agents dial the rest by hand.
- Required: leads without consent aren't dialed at all.
What's always checked at dial time
Every automatic dial checks the DNC list, call DND, invalid numbers, exclude tags and calling hours at the moment of dialing, not just when the lead was added. A lead that opts out while waiting in the queue is never called.
