Short answer
Yes. Each campaign has a minimum and a maximum number of calls per lead for the day, the week and the month. Minimums are a promise: leads that are short get dialed before everyone else, spread through the period. Maximums are a hard cap: a lead that reaches one rests until its next day, week or month. Every dial to the number counts, from any campaign.
"Did we actually call every lead enough?" is one of the most common complaints about dialers. One lead gets hammered while another sits untouched for a week. Call-frequency rules fix that by turning your follow-up plan into something the dialer guarantees.
The six settings
Open a campaign's settings and find Call frequency:
| Period | Minimum | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Day | Calls each lead should get every day | Calls a lead may get in one day |
| Week (Monday–Sunday) | Calls each lead should get every week | Calls a lead may get in one week |
| Month | Calls each lead should get every month | Calls a lead may get in one month |
Leave a box empty for no rule. You can use any combination, for example *at least 3 a week, never more than 2 a day*.
What the dialer does with them
- Minimum: always hit. A lead still short of any minimum is dialed before other leads. Only queue jumpers (missed-call callbacks, double dials) and lead-owner order come first.
- Maximum: never passed. A lead that hits a maximum isn't removed. It just waits until its next day, week or month starts, then becomes callable again.
- Evenly spread. The retry delay keeps a gap between calls, and leads that have rested longest rank higher, so calls spread across the day and week instead of bunching up. See how the dialer spreads calls.
Counted the way the lead experiences it
- Every dial counts: this campaign, other campaigns, and manual calls to the number.
- In the lead's own time zone: their day, their Monday-to-Sunday week, their month.
So a lead in two campaigns with *max 2 a day* each still gets at most 2 calls a day, not 4.
Common setups
| Goal | Settings |
|---|---|
| Never more than twice a day | Max 2/day |
| Every lead every week, without spamming | Min 3/week, max 1/day |
| Long-term nurture | Min 2/month, max 1/week |
| Aggressive new-lead push | Min 3/day, max 4/day (often with a step cadence) |
Saving checks the math
DialerDay refuses settings that can't work, such as a minimum above its maximum, or a daily minimum your calling window and retry delay can't fit. See why call-frequency settings fail to save.
Max attempts still applies
Max attempts is a lifetime limit per lead in the campaign, up to 1,000. It has to be at least as high as your largest minimum. With a weekly or monthly minimum, set it high enough to cover every month you want the lead worked. When a lead runs out of attempts, it's finished for that campaign.
