Short answer
Because the targets can't be met. Minimums are a promise, so DialerDay refuses ones that are mathematically impossible: a minimum above its maximum, a daily minimum your calling window and retry delay can't fit, a weekly or monthly minimum above what the daily limit allows, or minimums above max attempts. The error says which rule breaks and why.
If DialerDay let you save *at least 6 calls a day* with a 9am–11am window and a 1-hour retry delay, it could never keep that promise. Every lead would show as behind forever, and they'd crowd out everything else. So the settings are checked when you save.
The checks, in order
| Message | What it means | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The minimum is above the maximum | For example, min 4/week, max 3/week | Lower the minimum or raise the maximum |
| A minimum of N calls a day is not reachable | The daily maximum, or the window and retry delay, allow fewer calls a day | Widen the window, shorten the retry delay, or lower the minimum |
| A minimum of N calls a week is not reachable | More than 7 × the calls possible per day | Lower it, or allow more calls a day |
| A minimum of N calls a month is not reachable | More than 28 × the calls possible per day | Same as above |
| A minimum of N calls a month is not reachable at most M calls a week | More than 4 × the weekly maximum | Raise the weekly maximum |
| A minimum of N calls a week is above the monthly maximum | A week's minimum can't exceed the month's maximum | Raise the monthly maximum |
| Max attempts is below the N calls the minimum asks for | The lifetime limit is lower than a minimum | Raise max attempts |
How "calls possible per day" is worked out
calls per day = window length ÷ retry delay + 1, capped by the daily maximum if there is one.
With a 9am–5pm window (8 hours) and a 2-hour retry delay: 8 ÷ 2 + 1 = 5 calls a day at most. A daily minimum of 6 fails. A weekly minimum of 35 or less is fine.
What the checks don't cover
The checks only ask whether the targets are possible for one lead. They don't know whether your team can make that many calls across your whole list. For that, see how many agents you need.
